About the event
Global Resonance: Voices for Unity in Contemporary Society
Global Resonance: Voices for Unity in Contemporary Society is the first in a series of exhibitions dedicated to exploring the legacies of global figures who have inspired people across the world through their compassion, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to peace. This inaugural exhibition centers on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, illuminating his cultural heritage, spiritual teachings, and lifelong advocacy
for nonviolence and unity.
Presented at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, the exhibition draws from the museum’s rich collection of Tibetan artifacts to trace the Dalai Lama’s lineage, particularly his connection to Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig) the Bodhisattva of Compassion, of whom each Dalai Lama is considered to be an emanation. Historic thangkas, ritual instruments, and ancient sculptures offer insight into the traditions that inform his identity and message.
