Introduction to Tibetan Medicine @ Tibetan Museum

Join us on September 15 as we welcome Dr. Jetsun Chime for an Introduction to Tibetan Medicine & Health Benefits of Natural Remedies.

Dr. Jetsun Chime was born into the Gangkar Emchi Family (Doctor Family) of Toe Dingri in Tibet. When she was 4yrs old, she was recognized as the reincarnation of venerable Dakar Jetsun kushab by Nyingma lama Trushik Rinpoche and began her Buddhist study from eight years old, after that she studied the Tibetan medical system of Sowa Rigpa in Mentsekhang (Tibetan medical college) at Dharamsala India.

After her graduation in 1998, she was sent to India, Nepal, Brazil and officially served for five years. She migrated to the USA in 2004 and is currently serving Tibetans, Himalayan-region people and other foreigners in New York through the traditional Tibetan medical system. She was also invited by several Dharma centers and organizations in North America to give health talks. She also helps them to identify their illness through the practices of traditional methods of diagnosis. She has visited other countries to give health talks and introduce traditional Tibetan medical system of Sowa Rigpa through seminars and talks at different platforms.

She has been promoting health awareness and serving health system for more than 19 years through Sorig practice and was elected as the President of Tibetan Women’s Association in NY&NJ from 2015 – 2016

Special Yoga Class with Melissa Ruiz @ Tibetan Museum

Melissa Ruiz is inspired by health and wellness. She grew up playing sports and was formerly a WNBA cheerleader. She studied yoga under the guidance of Marina De Lima and Anayra Calderon, graduating from Yoga In the World RYS. Her training is Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa based. Melissa is an athletic enthusiast so expect a powerful flow with lots of core work. Melissa is obsessed with her Shiba Inu named King and in her spare time is training for the NYC marathon. She is devoted to helping her students reach their highest potential and mission is to uplift and empower all beings around her.

Please bring your own mat, towel, and blocks.
