About the event

Workshop Description:

In this Yoga Nidra and Reiki workshop, students will lie down in Shavasana and be guided through various stages of deep rejuvenation. There is no movement involved in this class; all that is needed is for the practitioner to get comfy and listen to the sound of Kerry's voice guiding them.  In addition to Yoga Nidra, this class includes a mini individual Reiki healing session by Kerry following the practice.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is an ancient relaxation technique also known as  "yogic sleep" in which the practitioner is guided through various stages  including a rotation of consciousness (body scanning) and guided  imagery to  induce full body relaxation and calm in the mind and body.  The practitioner will be guided into the hypnagogic state- a state  between sleep and waking. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra  is  equivalent to 2-4 hours of sleep in the body. Yoga Nidra can help to  calm the nervous system, assist in releasing negative thought patterns  and has been shown to help those struggling with insomnia, PTSD,  depression, anxiety, and chronic pain.

Participants will leave this workshop feeling rested, relaxed, and rejuvenated.

Reiki

Reiki is spiritually guided life energy known as Ki or Chi.  Ki is  the non-physical energy used by healers.  The ability to channel Reiki  is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement  process.  Chi flows through to harmonize imbalances that may be  physical, mental or emotional. Using hands-on healing with light touch  or above body hand placement (floating hands), this gentle, non-invasive  modality can treat physical pain as well as depression, trauma,  anxiety, stress, grief, and much more.
