About the event

Join Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Seema Lisa Pandya for an intimate conversation about Tabla Syconoid Osculum Echoes, her sculptural meditation on the vibrations that shape everything from our cells to the cosmos. Built from reclaimed tabla, bongo, and Persian daf drumheads—surfaces played and touched by musicians for hundreds of hours—the work transforms spent instruments into maps of unseen rhythm. Pandya will discuss her eco-conscious practice at the crossroads of art, physics, biology, and sustainability, and share how discarded materials become vessels for pattern, sound, and memory. Her work has been exhibited at The MET, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Mumbai Contemporary Art Week, with features in Vogue India and Time Out New York.

In-person: Included with museum admission.
