Known for their dynamic performances and lush, layered harmonies, Avon Faire will transport you through a diverse collection of traditional folk songs of Ireland and the British Isles, including medieval story ballads, sea shanties, rousing pub tunes, and romantic classics.
Avon Faire, featuring Kath Green and Andriette Redmann, along with singer/recorderist Anna
Marie Spallina, singer/bassist Emma Steen, dancer/harpist Dawn Daniels and percussionist John Rokosny, is New York City’s fun, female vocal harmony group, reimagining traditional Celtic folk songs, medieval story ballads, rousing pub tunes, romantic classics and sea shanties
from Ireland and the British Isles.
From the heart-pounding rhythms of the Irish jig to the soft, poignant ballads that tell tales of
ancient legends, their music encapsulates the soul of Celtic tradition. For centuries, Celtic music is more than just a genre it’s a living, breathing history. This performance brings these stories to the stage in a way that will captivate both long-time lovers of Celtic music and those discovering it for the first time.
Avon Faire isn’t just a vocal group—they are storytellers, bringing the magic of Ireland’s folk traditions to life with every note. Their performances at Renaissance fairs, folk venues, Irish pubs, festivals, and historic sites across the tri-state area have earned them a dedicated
following and a reputation for excellence in their craft.
Whether it’s tapping your feet to a lively reel, clapping along with a sea shanty, or simply letting the melodies sweep you away, you’ll enjoy a performance that embodies the spirit of Ireland and the Celtic traditions that have endured for centuries.
