Diamond Matching Grant Program :: 2-to-1 Matching

Become a Sponsor

We are proud to be part of the Staten Island Foundation’s Diamond Matching Grant Program. From now until June 30, 2026, you have an amazing opportunity to support the museum! Your donation will be tripled by the Matching Grant. A $20 donation becomes $60! $25 turns into $75! $100 jumps to $300!

Jacques Marchais was a woman ahead of her time whose vision and determination created a beautiful, compelling museum. Your contribution to one or more sponsorship areas makes you an active partner in sustaining Marchais’ legacy now and for generations to come. We thank you for your generosity.

*Community Wellness: Supporting our wellness program means we can bring low cost or no-cost student workshops into schools and offer classes for adults and seniors.

*Gardens and Grounds: Your donation will help us nurture, repair, and maintain the tranquil beauty of our unique site on the hillside.

*General Operations: Your backing means a lot. Every dollar you give will help us keep Jacques Marchais’ legacy alive and open to the public.

*Library Building Restoration: The library opened in 1945. Your gift will help us celebrate its 80 the Anniversary with some much-needed rain, seepage, and other repairs.

*Tech: Like you, we depend upon technology. Our mission is to preserve, share, and educate. Our vision is to welcome visitors and bring the museum beyond its walls. Your contribution will enable us to do both.

The JMMTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art preserves a unique collection of rare and sacred artifacts and provides careful stewardship of the museum’s historic buildings and gardens.

Through the Diamond Matching Grant Program, you can help carry this dream into the next season.

We present the art, culture and history of Tibet to a world audience, educating and inspiring appreciation of Himalayan cultures and fostering better global understanding.

We work to be living museum, with and without walls, promoting diversity and inclusion, welcoming visitors to our unique and historic hillside site, and bringing the Museum into the community in person and online.

As we share the unique culture of Tibet, we strive to make connections between past and present, between Tibet and other cultural heritages, to foster awareness, insight, and appreciation of the commonality of our shared humanity.

We thank you for your generous support.

Media Incubator Program

JMMTA offers a space to produce media within a singular cultural setting — terraced stone gardens, intimate galleries, and a hilltop perch on Staten Island that draws filmmakers, photographers, podcasters, and storytellers looking for something more than a backdrop. The program supports projects in documentary, photography, audio, and film, connecting media makers with the art, history, and living culture of Tibet.

JMMTA is opening its doors to media makers. We are supporting:

  • A space to produce media — JMMTA offers filmmakers, photographers, podcasters, and other media makers access to a singular environment: terraced stone gardens, intimate galleries, and a hilltop setting that functions as both backdrop and inspiration.

  • A creative incubator rooted in living culture — The museum's mission centers on keeping Tibetan art alive and present. Media residents become part of that work, producing content that extends the museum's reach and reflects its collection outward into the world.

  • A partnership built on shared storytelling — Media makers who work at JMMTA gain more than a location — they gain a collaborator. The museum provides context, access, and community; residents cultivate their craft, audiences, and vision.
