IT TAKES A COMMUNITY

Get Involved

There are two ways to give of yourself - that's in time or resources and we welcome both!

Volunteer

Volunteers are integral to the success of the Museum. We are currently seeking volunteers to serve as docents and assist with special events. Docents lead tours and provide information about the collection to visitors. Even if you’ve never been to Tibet, you can still be a docent as all docents are trained by Museum staff and have access to the Museum’s collection of books about Tibet.

Garden Volunteers are also needed. If you have a green thumb and a few hours to spare, we can always use assistance maintaining our gardens. Groups of volunteers are welcome to “Adopt a Garden” and tend to one specific area of the garden throughout the seasons.

Internships are available for college and graduate school students. We would like to acknowledge and thank Wagner College and the College of Staten Island for their support of our internship programs.

If you would like to help please fill out the form below and we are certain we will find a way for you to make a difference.

In a 1933 letter to her friend Kate Crane-Gartz, Jacques Marchais wrote:

"If I can give the world something that would be uplifting and a genuine help,

perhaps, I should try."

Well, Jacques succeed and by 1947, opened the first museum in the United States solely dedicated to the art and culture of Tibet and the Himalayas.  For more than 70 years, these buildings have housed Jacques' collection and her legacy, and we need you to help make sure they stand for another 70 years.

Your donation will be used to:

  • Develop quality educational programs.

  • Provide outreach programs that bring Florida history to schools, students, and other groups that otherwise are unable to visit the Museum.

  • Develop outstanding special exhibitions.

  • Preserve and add to our valuable collections.

  • Enhance your experience as a visitor!

Donations provide essential, ongoing support that helps the Museum meet its mission.

Donations are made to the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose purpose is to share and preserve the art and culture of Tibet and the Himalayas.
