About the event
Language lives in objects. In Conversation Pieces, adult English learners gather for two hours of guided conversation built around pieces from our collection—using art and artifacts as starting points for discussion, storytelling, and cultural sharing.
The workshop strengthens speech recognition, sentence patterns, vocabulary, and confidence through natural, low-pressure exchange. Led by a certified ESOL instructor who works primarily with adult learners, it welcomes speakers of all backgrounds to practice English while exploring the museum's Tibetan and Himalayan holdings together.
